Advocate Participation Agreement

1. Introduction

This Advocate Participation Agreement (“Agreement”) governs the participation of advocates on the eLegum platform, a legal technology platform developed and operated by TrueLegum LLP.

By registering as an advocate on the eLegum platform, the advocate agrees to the terms set forth in this Agreement.

For the purposes of this Agreement:

  • “Platform” refers to the eLegum platform.
  • “Operator” refers to TrueLegum LLP.
  • “Advocate” refers to any licensed legal practitioner who registers to provide legal services through the platform.

2. Eligibility

To participate as an advocate on the eLegum platform, the advocate must:

  • Be a licensed advocate enrolled with a State Bar Council in India.
  • Be eligible to practice law under the Advocates Act, 1961.
  • Provide accurate and verifiable professional information.

The platform may require verification of credentials.

3. Nature of the Platform

The eLegum platform acts as a technology facilitator that allows users to explore legal information and connect with advocates.

The platform:

  • Does not employ advocates
  • Does not form a partnership with advocates
  • Does not control advocate professional judgment

Advocates operate as independent professionals.

4. No Solicitation or Advertisement

The platform is designed to comply with professional standards applicable to advocates.

Advocates agree that they will not engage in direct solicitation or advertising practices that violate the Bar Council of India Rules.

Advocates shall ensure that their participation on the platform complies with all applicable professional conduct rules.

5. Professional Responsibility

Advocates are solely responsible for:

  • Legal advice provided to clients
  • Professional conduct
  • Compliance with legal ethics
  • Maintaining confidentiality of client information

TrueLegum LLP and the eLegum platform shall not be responsible for advocate-client interactions.

6. Advocate–Client Relationship

Any legal engagement between an advocate and a client occurs directly between them.

The platform:

  • Does not provide legal advice
  • Does not guarantee legal outcomes
  • Does not control advocate-client agreements

7. Platform Usage

Advocates may use the platform to:

  • Receive potential client inquiries
  • Provide legal consultation
  • Manage case-related communication
  • Use AI tools to assist legal drafting and research

Advocates remain responsible for reviewing any AI-assisted outputs before sharing them with clients.

8. AI Tools Usage

The platform may provide AI-powered tools to assist advocates with:

  • Drafting legal documents
  • Legal research
  • Case analysis
  • Legal content generation

AI-generated content is intended only as assistance and should be reviewed by advocates before use in professional matters.

9. Fees and Payments

Advocates may independently agree on professional fees with clients.

The platform may introduce service or technology fees for use of certain platform features.

Any such charges will be clearly communicated.

10. Confidentiality

Advocates agree to maintain confidentiality of any client information obtained through the platform.

Advocates must comply with professional confidentiality obligations.

11. Account Integrity

Advocates agree to:

  • Maintain accurate profile information
  • Protect login credentials
  • Use the platform only for lawful professional purposes

Accounts may be suspended if misuse is detected.

12. Suspension or Termination

TrueLegum LLP may suspend or remove advocate accounts if:

  • Professional misconduct is reported
  • Platform policies are violated
  • Fraudulent or unethical activities are detected

13. Limitation of Liability

TrueLegum LLP and the eLegum platform shall not be liable for:

  • Advocate-client disputes
  • Legal outcomes of cases
  • Advice given by advocates

Advocates remain fully responsible for their professional services.

14. Compliance with Law

Advocates agree to comply with:

  • Advocates Act, 1961
  • Bar Council of India Rules
  • Applicable laws and regulations governing legal practice in India

15. Governing Law

This Agreement shall be governed by the laws of India.

Any disputes shall be subject to the jurisdiction of courts located in:

Hyderabad, Telangana

16. Acceptance of Agreement

By registering as an advocate on the eLegum platform, the advocate acknowledges that they have read, understood, and agreed to this Advocate Participation Agreement.
