Client Engagement Terms
1. Introduction
These Client Engagement Terms govern interactions between users (“Clients”) and advocates who provide legal services through the eLegum platform, operated by TrueLegum LLP.
By engaging with an advocate through the platform, the Client agrees to these terms.
2. Role of the Platform
The eLegum platform is a technology platform designed to help users:
- Access AI-assisted legal information
- Explore potential dispute resolution options
- Connect with independent advocates
TrueLegum LLP does not provide legal representation and does not act as a law firm through the platform.
3. Independent Advocates
Advocates available on the platform are independent legal professionals.
They are:
- Not employees of TrueLegum LLP
- Not agents of the platform
- Not controlled by the platform in professional matters
Any legal advice or services provided by an advocate are solely the responsibility of that advocate.
4. Formation of Advocate–Client Relationship
An advocate–client relationship is formed directly between the advocate and the client.
The platform merely facilitates communication and discovery.
TrueLegum LLP is not a party to the legal engagement.
5. Professional Fees
Advocates may determine their own professional fees.
Any fee agreement between the client and advocate is a separate agreement between those parties.
TrueLegum LLP does not control advocate fee structures unless otherwise specified through platform services.
6. AI Assistance
The platform may provide AI-assisted tools to help users:
- Draft documents
- Understand legal issues
- Prepare questions for advocates
AI outputs are informational and should not be treated as legal advice.
Clients should consult advocates before acting on AI-generated information.
7. User Responsibilities
Clients agree to:
- Provide accurate information
- Use the platform lawfully
- Respect professional boundaries with advocates
Clients should avoid submitting false, misleading, or unlawful information.
8. Confidentiality
Clients should exercise caution when sharing sensitive information on the platform.
While reasonable security measures are implemented, users should avoid sharing confidential data unless necessary for legal assistance.
9. Disputes Between Client and Advocate
Any disputes arising between a client and advocate must be resolved directly between them.
TrueLegum LLP and the eLegum platform are not responsible for disputes regarding legal services, fees, or case outcomes.
10. Limitation of Liability
TrueLegum LLP and the eLegum platform shall not be liable for:
- Legal advice provided by advocates
- Outcomes of legal matters
- Professional conduct of advocates
- Client decisions based on AI-generated information
Users engage with advocates at their own discretion.
11. Platform Moderation
The platform reserves the right to:
- Remove abusive or inappropriate content
- Suspend accounts that misuse the platform
- Investigate reports of misconduct
12. Changes to Terms
TrueLegum LLP may update these terms periodically.
